You can transfer one of your subdomains to another 20dragons account using a one-time transfer code.
Starting a transfer (as the current owner)
- From My subdomains, choose Create transfer code for the subdomain you want to transfer.
- Your transfer code is shown once, in the format
XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. Save it now — it is not shown again. - Share the code with the person you are transferring the subdomain to.
The code is normally valid for about a week. You can create a new code at most once per hour for the same subdomain — creating a new one replaces the previous one. You can also Revoke an active code at any time before it is used.
Accepting a transfer (as the new owner)
- From My subdomains, choose Use transfer code.
- Enter the transfer code you received.
- If accepted, the subdomain is now managed from your account.
Status
A transfer code can be active, used, replaced (by a newer code), revoked, or expired.
Common errors
- "This transfer code is invalid or no longer available." — shown for an incorrect, expired, already-used, or otherwise unusable code. For security, 20dragons does not say which of these applies.
- "Subdomain transfers are disabled for this account." — transfers are not available for this account.
- "Too many transfer attempts. Please try again later." — too many failed attempts to redeem a code in a short time.
- "This subdomain is on payment/dispute hold and cannot be transferred." or a similar account-hold message — the subdomain cannot be transferred until the hold is resolved.
- A failed transfer may show a reference code (for example, starting with "TRF-") — include this when contacting Support.
